I offer compassionate support for mourning after death, divorce, miscarriage, infertility, and other transitions — helping you honor what you have lost while finding your way forward again, at your own pace.
I offer compassionate online grief therapy when loss has changed your life — through death, divorce, miscarriage, infertility, illness, or the end of a career or identity you once held dear. Grief is not a problem to rush through; it is a human response that deserves space, understanding, and care.
There is no fixed timeline for healing. In therapy, we work at a pace that honors your relationship to what you have lost while helping you find ways to move forward. I draw on psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing — approaches described on our EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and psychodynamic psychotherapy pages — when grief is layered with trauma, anxiety, or experiences that live in the body as well as the mind.
I provide telehealth sessions for adults in Rhode Island, New York, and South Carolina. If you wonder whether you should already feel better, or feel unsure how to live fully again after loss, grief therapy can help you accept what has happened and construct a meaningful path forward.

34+ years in practice
I am Dr. Jane Moffett. Over thirty-four years, I have helped patients with anxiety, depression, trauma, and bereavement — many of whom sought me out after therapy that felt polite but never truly engaged. I talk with my clients; that active, thoughtful dialogue is a deliberate, defining part of how I practice.
“I believe in real conversation — honest, thoughtful, and aimed at the change you came for.”
In our first meetings, we discuss your concerns and goals with real conversation, not passive agreement. I employ traditional psychotherapy and proven mind-body approaches, including Somatic Experiencing and EMDR, to provide safe and compassionate care. Sessions are held via secure telehealth for adults in Rhode Island, New York, and South Carolina.
I treat mood disorders, anxiety, sexual trauma, PTSD, childhood and adult trauma, attachment trauma, and grief — using traditional psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, and EMDR via telehealth in RI, NY, and SC.
Mixed age groups and a diverse group of people — including Asian, Black, and Latino clients.
Traditional psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and proven mind-body treatment modalities.
